Howard Pyle - Partner / Creative Director
Howard specializes in producing integrated marketing campaigns that merge digital, video, mobile and traditional media to engage audiences. As a creative producer, he pushes and crosses traditional boundaries, mixing and re-mixing content - integrating user generated, curated, and expert content. With 15 years experience working in new media, Howard's understanding of technology, hands on production experience, and ability to oversee large-scale projects allows him to seamlessly usher campaigns from concept to completion. In addition to his work on campaigns, Howard is an accomplished commercial photographer represented by Corbis and Image Source. His photography portfolio can be viewed at www.processlab.com.
Before starting Local Theory with Jonathan, Howard was President / COO of Counts Media (creators of Yellow Arrow and Mobkastr). Prior to Counts Media, Howard spent several years consulting as a freelance creative and held previous positions as SVP / Chief Technologist at Ammirati Puris Lintas; SVP at Uproar.com (which brought Family Feud and Match Game to the Internet); and Director of Technology for CKS | Partners.
Jonathan Stern - Partner
Jonathan is a strategist in the modern sense: he combines an understanding of media, creative development, and innovation with traditional business planning. Having played key roles in both large media companies and early stage ventures, his management expertise helps advanced concepts find a foothold in practical application.
Jonathan was previously Director of GAle GAtes, et al - an experimental theatre company where we worked closely with Michael Counts and other artists. Having worked with advanced media at Conde Nast, WebMD, he has a deep understanding of the intersection of traditional media and interactive. Jonathan acted as an advisor to Counts Media during his tenure as a Partner in San Francisco based hedge fund AIS, then moved back to New York in 2005 to join the company as the COO during its critical period following the launch of Yellow Arrow. In addition to his advisory work at Local Theory, Jonathan also serves as CEO of Counts Media.
Will Weems - Partner / Senior Art Director
Will is a respected veteran of interactive design and user experience. With over 15 years of experience crafting interfaces for web, mobile and motion graphics, he’s become somewhat of a guru among designers, a fact underscored by his position as an Executive Board Member of the AIGA in Washington DC, the professional association for design.
As a creative and art director, Will has worked with many high-profile and Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T, Fannie Mae, Nokia, and AARP. Based in Washington DC, Will was previously the Principal and Creative Director for Siren DC, an integrated design firm focusing on corporate and non-profits such as CSIS, ICNC, and AIPAC. Prior to Siren DC, Will was Creative Director for Modus Interactive.
